Coffee County, located in middle Tennessee about half way between Chattanooga and Nashville, it was established 8 January 1836 and was named for General John Coffee, a friend of General Andrew Jackson as both were heros in the War of 1812. These settlements of estates are some of those records seldom used, but they contain a great deal of information sometimes not found anywhere else. If minor children are involved, then the parents are usually given. The bonds are to secure the trust into those involved with handling the estates.
