1810 Russell County, Virginia Tax List

In the absence of the 1810 Russell County census, this tax list is offered as a good listing of the heads of households for the area which in 1810 covered a much larger area including Scott, Wise, Dickenson and Buchanan Counties. Given here are the number of white tithables, those who were slaves over 12 years of age and the number of horses owned by the household. The tax list is important for the names of the heads of households.
