Henry County, created in 1777 out of Pittsylvania County and named for Patrick Henry who lived here for a time, is located in the southern portion of the state. This 1810 tax listing is a substitute for the missing 1810 census of the county. It gives the names of the head of the households with the number of white tithables, number of slaves over 12 years of age and the number of horses owned by the household. Some few notes are added to the records.
