1840 Warren County, Virginia Census

$10.00

Warren County, located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, is part of that great migration route down the Shenandoah by most of the early settlers going from New York and Philadelphia, the ports of entry into the United States, as they made their way into the Carolinas and Tennessee or Kentucky.

This transcription of the 1840 census contains the page number of the original pages of the microfilm to help with double checking the transcription, the names of the heads of the households and those living in that household with their age and sex as all that is given. In addition, page two of the census is shown where one finds the occupation of the household, personal data such as blind, deaf, etc., the names and ages of the pensioners from the American Revolution and War of 1812 and the types of schools, if they were teachers, with the numbers of students. All together gives a more complete packet of information about the family than originally suspected.
