The Deeds found in this volume come from a number of other counties like Wythe, Tazewell and Giles as Bland was carved from these territories in the early 1860s. Since the Deeds tell great stories of the coming and going of our ancestors, they give a side light into our research that we cannot find in the other usual sources, i.e. Marriages, Births and Deaths or even the census records taken every ten years. In many cases, this will be the only source of children and their spouses. The neighbors are often given which helps round out our research. Study them carefully.
