Bland County, located in the western portion of Virginia was created in 1861 out of Giles, Wythe and Tazewell Counties. The county is divided into four Civil Districts and it is in this manner that the census was enumerated. The abstracting of the information is given and then there are notes added from the author who has worked on this county records for many years and knows the families really well. These extra notes are worth the price of the book.
