$25.00

Randolph County was the eighth county formed in West Virginia (from Harrison County in 1786). Later, Randolph County gave up land to ten counties, including its parent, Harrison County. The early records of Randolph may be very pertinent to research in the other nine counties also: Nicholas, Lewis, Pocahontas, Preston, Barbour, Braxton, Upshur, Tucker, and Webster. In many cases, these records serve also as a yearly census for individuals especially in the estate sales in the probate actions. Includes abstracts for Deed Books 1-3 (1787-1806), Will Books 1-4 (1787-1860), Early Marriages (1787-1816), and Sims Land Grant (1790-1859). It includes early County formation in (West) Virginia map as well as a listing of the county formation for each county from which it was formed and the date of formation are a bonus. Index.
