Williamson County, Texas Marriage Records 1849-1860

$8.50

Williamson County, Texas was created in 1848 out of the lands of Milam County in central Texas. The county was named in honor of Judge Robert McAlpin Williamson, the first Major in the Texas Rangers and later a Judge. He was known as “three legged Willie” because he could presided over the court with all the dignity of a chief justice and within an hour be dancing.

This is the early marriage records for the county and contains two alphabetical listings. The first is a surname listing of the grooms with the name of the bride and the date of the marriage. The second list is a surname listing of the brides with the name of the grooms and the date of the wedding.
