Gregg County, Texas was created in 1872 from Rusk and Upshur Counties. At the end of the Great Depression, the United State Congress passed legislation to put Americans back to work and for Gregg County, the listing of the Probate Cases was one of the tasks chosen. This is an alphabetical listing of the cases from 1872-1939. Each of the entries gives the name of the deceased, minor or lunatic, date filed and the case number. Using this latter number, you can obtain the original records from the Court House in Longview, Texas.
