Hutchinson County, Texas was created in 1876 out of land taken from Jack County. It was not organized, however, until 1901. This volume of marriages represent the first set of records for the county. There are two alphabetical listings of the marriages, the first is by the surname of the groom and gives the name of the parties and the date of the marriage. The second alphabetical listings is given by the brides' surname. These records are taken from a card file kept by J. Stoddard.
