Lipscomb County, Texas was created in 1876 out of Clay County, but was not organized in 1886. This marriage record reflects the first book of marriages for the county. This book contains two alphabetical listings of those marriages. The first is the listing by the surname of the grooms and gives the brides name and date of the marriages. The second listing is by the surname of the brides and gives the names of the groom and the date of the marriage.
