Jessamine County, Kentucky History and Biographies.
Jessamine County, created in 1798 from land given by Fayette County, one of the original counties of Kentucky and was named for Jessamine Douglass, daughter of one of the very early settlers who came into Kentucky right after the American Revolution. This volume is a collection of a short history of the area and a number of biographical sketches of some of the early settlers and their families collected prior to the 1880s. Most of the biographical material was contributed by the families themselves and therefore should be fairly accurate.
