Clinton County, located in the northwestern portion of the State, was first settled by John Livingston in 1830. It was established in 1833 from the older Clay County and was named for the Vice-President George Clinton of New York.

In this volume you will find a brief history of the county, records of the Wills & Administrations Books A & B for 1833 - 1865, a listing of the 1840 census of the county, and the death Register 1883 - 1887. Each of the above will be useful in genealogical research.
