Jasper County, Missouri, located in the south western portion of the state, was created in 1841 and named for William Jasper, American Revolutionary soldier. Jasper was Sergeant in the 2nd South Carolina Regiment and hero of several battles. This volume contains a brief history of the county, Patrons of the Atlas of 1876, and the Death Register 1883-1892.
