Jefferson County, located on the Mississippi River in the center of the state, was created in 1818 and named for President Thomas Jefferson. In this volume you will find a brief history of the county, the Patrons of the Atlas of 1876 and the 1830 Delinquent Tax List. This Patrons of the Atlas gives background on each head of the household living in the county at the time with information of where they were born, when they migrated to Missouri and their occupation and where they are living at the time.
