Franklin County, Georgia was created in 1784 and was considered the 8th county of the state. It is located in the north eastern portion of the state boarding South Carolina along the Savannah River. These records include bills of complaint, petitions, bonds, subpoenas, arrest warrants and other court orders, concerning both civil and criminal cases. In addition, these papers include election returns, lists of voters, juror panels, paupers and two declarations made to establish eligibility for a Revolutionary pension. one naming wife and children and listing property owned.
