Richmond County, Georgia was created in 1777. It is one of the original counties of the state and was formed out of a portion of the colonial Parish of St. Paul. It is the parent county to: Columbia, Glascock, McDuffie and part of Warren Counties. It lies on the eastern side of the state boarding the Savannah River and just across from Edgefield County, South Carolina. This volume was originally published as Volume II of the Historical Collection of the Georgia Chapters National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
