The Southern Patriot newspaper began publication in Charleston, South Carolina in 1815 and was published into 1848. The marriage and death notices in both Volumes 1 and 2 are not limited to the Southern states but include many other states such as New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, etc.
