Contains abstracts of wills recorded in Charleston, Charleston District, South Carolina, between the years 1783-1800, and also wills from other sections of the state which were recorded in Charleston between these dates. The years 1783-1800 were important ones in the history of South Carolina. It was during this period that the state recovered from the economic doldrums that were a natural contingency of the American Revolution and began to move into a period of heretofore unparalleled prosperity.
