Bledsoe County, Tennessee Chancery Court Minute Book, Volume II 1836-1847
WPA Records
Bledsoe County, located at the upper end of the Sequatchie Valley, was created by an Act of the Legislature on November 30, 1807 and named in honor of Abraham Bledsoe, and early explorer in Tennessee and father of Anthony Bledsoe, one of Tennessee’s early legislatures. This volume of the Chancery Court book is a summary of the various cases that came before the court and gives some of the details, but no all. This will whet one’s appetite for more that may or may not be found.
