Winn Parish was created in 1852 out of lands taken from Catahoula, Natchitoches, and Rapides Parish. It was named for Walter Winn, legislator from Rapides Parish. In this volume, you will find a short history of the area in its development from 1852 until the original was published in 1890. In addition, there are a number of biographical sketches of various leaders of the Parish at the time.
