Red River Parish was established in 1871 in the Red River Valley of Louisiana as a results of the reconstruction prominent across the south at the time. In this volume there is a brief history of the area followed by a series of brief biographical sketches of some of the prominent citizens in the Parish from the beginning until the book was first published about 1890.
