Fulton County, Kentucky History & Biographies. Fulton County was formed in 1845 and was the 99th in order in the state. It was formed out of the southwestern part of Hickman County and was named in honor of Robert Fulton. This reprint is a combination of two older books on Kentucky history. First “History of Kentucky” by Lewis Collins written in 1882. The second is “Kentucky: A History of the State” by W. H. Perin, J. H. Battle and G. C. Kniffin in 1885. The biographical sketches were drawn from data supplied by the families and therefore, can be considered of more accuracy than other sources.
