Madison County, Georgia History & Biographies
Madison County, located in the northeastern portion of the state, was created on December 5, 1811. The historical portion runs from 1811 up to the time of the original publication in the mid-1880s. The family sketches were submitted by the families themselves.
“James F. Colbert, farmer, Danielsville, was born in Madison county in 1839. About the beginning of this century Philip Colbert, a son of a Virginia planter, with his wife, Sarah Garr, came to Georgia and located on a farm in Oglethorpe county. ...etc...”
