Tennessee: Dickson County

Dickson County, located in middle Tennessee just west of Nashville was created on 25 October 1803 when the General Assembly made this the 25th County in the state taking lands from Montgomery and Robertson Counties. It was named for William Dickson, a Nashville physician who at the time was serving in the United States Congress.
