Bradford's History "Of Plimoth Plantation" from the Original Manuscript

$41.50

In about 1630, Gov. William Bradford began to record the history of Plymouth Colony from its inception until 1647, finishing his manuscript in 1651. This history was used in manuscript form by many of the early American historical writers, but it was not published in book form and disappeared about the time of the Revolution. The manuscript was discovered quite by chance in the mid-1800s, and the first complete edition was published in 1856. This reprint is made from a second edition published by the state of Massachusetts in 1901; it corrects numerous errors and omissions that appeared in the 1856 edition. In this reprint, we have eliminated about sixty pages of "addresses" by various religious and political figures that unnecessarily bloated the front matter, but Bradford's writing is here intact.
