The 1850 Federal Census, Franklin County, North Carolina
Couldn't load pickup availability
The 1850 Federal Census for any county is the most wanted census. Before 1850, the census information, however valuable, is minimal. Beginning with 1850, the census forms asked for the names of each person in the household as well as other bits of information about each individual; thus, the 1850 census gives the earliest most complete family information of public documents.
A sequential number has been assigned to the population schedule and indexed accordingly, a full name index but only one occurrence of each surname within a household. In addition, the slave schedule and the industry schedules are each indexed.
The sources of this work are two. The Population Schedule is microfilm from the National Archives of the United States. The other schedules are microfilm copies from the North Carolina Archives in Raleigh.
