This is a volume of deeds for Bertie County, North Carolina.  The book to follow begins where a previous book of abstracts ends.  Thus, what is abstracted here are deed books I.

Deed books were re-copied, the original deed books were not copied in a strict chronological sequence, i.e., Deed Book L-I consists of deeds from the nineteenth century.  

There are four (4) indexes:  Full Name, Women's Christian Name, Slave Name, Place Name.
