The Deeds of Halifax County, North Carolina, 1820-1824

This is the ninth book of deed abstracts of Halifax County's deeds.  The volume to follow includes the remainder of Deed Book 25 and the beginning portion of Deed Book 26.  

Caution to the researcher for two reasons:  First, only the original is authoritative; an abstract is a summary and a full index to the original; and second, the Halifax County's deed books of this period are copies made about the turn of this century; the copyists either handled the material unevenly or the originals were in different stages of deterioration.
