This volume contains a cumulative ‘Personal Time Line’ index to volumes 1-7 of Mr. Crafts’s excellent Ohio County (WV) Index book series, containing over 110,000 entries of persons, places and events that were mentioned in the Ohio County (Virginia) West Virginia County Court Order Books from 1777–1881. Even if you don’t have every volume of this series, this is a great stand-alone reference book. Included with each name is the date, subject and page number in the original Ohio County (WV) volume, which will refer the researcher to the original Court Order book. This volume also includes full name indexes to over twenty historical and current maps of the eight counties of the Northern West Virginia Panhandle. Researchers must keep in mind that the original Ohio County included parts of eight present-day Northern West Virginia Panhandle counties, so that special attention must be paid to boundary changes at various times. The majority of the names have been gleaned from civil lawsuits handled by the county court including individuals, banks, firms and corporations. Entries include plaintiffs and their corresponding defendants, plus miscellaneous entries that could cover almost any subject. The original pages are included with a reference to the source County Court Order Book and page number. Volume 7C completes this series, and will greatly facilitate searches for names and family relationships.
