CD: Report of the Proceedings and Exercises at the 150th Anniversary of the Incorporation of the Town of Kingston, Massachusetts, June 27, 1876

$15.95

The 150th anniversary of the town of Kingston coincided with the centennial birthday of the nation. The President of the United States, in accordance with an Act of Congress, invited the people throughout the country to assemble in their respective communities on the 4th of July to recount their local histories and then deposit copies of the same in the public archives at Washington. "It was evidently no less the duty than the honest pride of a town, so rich in Pilgrim and Revolutionary memorials as Kingston, to contribute its important share to the historic treasures of the country." This volume contains the orations, addresses, letters, hymns, toasts, and poems written by various dignitaries of the town in honor of this anniversary and preserved for future generations.
