This CD-ROM contains the three volumes of Davidson County, Tennessee, county court minutes, covering the years 1783-1792, 1792-1799 and 1799-1803 respectively. Many persons mentioned in these minutes do not appear in any other records. County court responsibilities went beyond the hearing of lawsuits; roads and ferries had to be provided, brands and marks registered, orphans cared for, estates settled, and many other details of life handled in an orderly manner. The resulting abstracts are accordingly rich in genealogical data.
