Rockingham County was formed out of Augusta County in 1778. In this volume are abstracts of extant church records for this region prior to the 19th century, beginning in the mid 1750s. These are the records of Rider's Church. Peaked Mountain Church, Friedens Church, St. Michael's Union Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Smith's Creek Baptist Church, Linville Baptist Church (Brock's Gap), marriages performed by Rev. John Alderson, Jr. and marriages recorded at the county clerk's office in Harrisonburg.
