Data is presented in the form of chronologically arranged, brief biographical sketches which usually include dates of birth and death; names of parents; name of spouse(s), and date and place of marriage, if known. This is followed by a list of children with their birth and death dates and names of their spouses. The first two chapters cover the Ellis and Luke (MacLuke, Lucas) families. The Lukes were especially prolific and their family makes up the greater part of this book. Allied surnames include Alexander, Wynn, McMillan, Griffin, Griner and many more. Additional chapters address the Gaskins, Graves, Hayes, Jernigan, Merritt, Sears, and Stephens or Stevens families. Includes a bibliography and an index of full names.
