Green. These records were transcribed from microfilm, which in some cases was in very poor condition. Information varies from county to county but usually includes name, unit and dates served.
Names are arranged in order of appearance and are not alphabetical. Occasionally a Confederate soldier's name appeared and was indicated by the census taker with a line drawn through the name or with an annotation of “C” or “Confed.” Some counties included the abbreviation "col" for colored soldiers.
