Families with the phonetic "Huff" surname, regardless of the actual spelling of the name, began immigrating to the United States in 1619. Federal census records were the most heavily used source; other sources include pension records, a variety of previously published material (books and genealogical periodicals), family records of correspondents, and non-Federal censuses. Information varies widely for each person, but generally includes name, dates of birth and death, state and county of residence, name of spouse, and names of children; additional material might cover the names of the subject's parents and the names of the children's spouses.
