This interesting book begins with a chronological history of Warrenton. This section is written in an engaging narrative style, incorporating the names and occupations of the people who gave the town its character. Following the history section are several smaller sections which group together people according to their interests and careers: horse owners and trainers, volunteers, town merchants, fire department, restaurants, government, educators, construction, and other occupations. One section deals with people who were born or died outside of the Warrenton area. The section titled "In the Service of Their Country" includes people with military service information on their stones or in their obituaries. Includes a bibliography and a surname index.
