Barbour County, West Virginia was formed in 1843 from parts of Harrison, Lewis, and Randolph counties. This work consists of three roughly equal parts: The first concerns the history of West Virginia as a whole, the second covers Barbour County in particular, and the third consists of alphabetically arranged family histories. The second and third sections are replete with the names of thousands of local residents.
