"Light Horse Harry" Lee in the War for Independence: A Military Biography of Robert E. Lee's Father [hardcover]

$28.95
Henry Lee's career in the Revolutionary War is the story of a cavalryman who was in constant motion, almost in daily contact with the enemy. He excelled at fast moving, hit and run warfare. He was a master at gathering vital intelligence, and leading well planned, daring raids. Congress awarded him a Gold Medal for the raid on Paulus Hook in 1779, the only such award for an officer below the rank of general. Transferred to the Southern Department in late 1780 he played a significant role in winning the war in the south.
