Membership Records of Seventh Day Baptists of Central New York State, 1797- 1940s - Ilou M. Sanford. This book is a compilation of Seventh Day Baptists records and statistics for Central New York State beginning in 1797. Seventh Day Baptists were amongst the first settlers in the area, making their records especially valuable. Original records located in the vault at the Janesville Archives were used, and if those records were in bad condition, lists typed at a later date and in better condition were used.

Due to the fact that church clerks varied a great deal in what they thought important, there is a wide variety of information: admissions, births, baptisms (infant baptisms were not done), deaths, dismissals, excommunications, places of origin, parents, spouses, and other biographical information. Names are not alphabetized because relationships show up better as they were originally written.

This work is arranged by geographic groups. Editorial comments are used if items were questionable. A surname index will aid in the search for names throughout the book. Membership records include: Brookfield Group (1st Brookfield, Leonardsville, West Edmeston), DeRuyter, Scott Area (Scott, Lincklaen, Truxton, Preston, Norwich, Ithaca, Newport, Otselic), Verona (1st Verona, 2nd Verona, Syracuse), and the Adams Center Area (Adams Center, Houndsfield, Watson, Richland, Diana, Pinckney).
