This volume contains entries from Petersburg City, Virginia Hustings Court Deed Book No. 2, 1790–1801 beginning on page 66 and ending on page 260 for courts held October 4, 1790 through May 7, 1793. Records include deeds, bonds, powers of attorney, sales of, and, in some cases, emancipation of slaves.

At the time of these records, the City of Petersburg was comprised of several locales with names such as Blandford, Blandford Hill, Bollingbrooke, Gillfield, Pocahontas, Ravenscroft, etc. These locales also were in the counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, and Prince George.

In addition, the records contain names of persons claiming residence in various counties in the general area of Petersburg, such as Amelia, Brunswick, Charles City, Charlotte, Halifax, Greensville, Henrico, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway, Powhatan, and Surry counties. Persons from other Virginia counties such as Amherst, Norfolk, and Spotsylvania also appear in these records, as well as persons from the states of New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and from Baltimore Town and Baltimore County in Maryland.
