A wide variety of information is found in order books including appointments of county officials and militia officers, records of legal disputes heard before the county court, appointments of guardians, apprenticeships of children by the overseers of the poor, naturalizations, road orders, and registrations of free Negroes. This volume contains entries from Loudoun County, Virginia Order Book A, 1757–1762 beginning on page 452 and ending on page 656 for courts held 11 May 1762 through 11 June 1762; and Loudoun County, Virginia Order Book B, 1762–1765 beginning on page 1 and ending on page 60 for courts held 13 July 1762 through 15 September 1762. County court order books contain records of all matters brought before the court while in session. An index to full names and places adds to the value of this work.
