Putnam County, one of the counties in Middle Tennessee was named for General Israel Putnam of the American Revolutionary War fame. This volume of the circuit court dating from 1842 represents the first record book of that court in the county. The names of the parties involved are given and a brief summary of the case is shown. Little details of each case are given in this volume. Hundreds of names are listed here, however.
