Deeds may note the location of land, names of watercourses, names of adjoining landowners, original grantee, wives or mothers with dower interests to the land, and names of witnesses. Deeds concerning inheritances may list siblings and parents. Prenuptial agreements may include names of previous spouses and children. Deeds of Gift may explain kinship or friendship with grantees. Trust deeds name friends who are to care for dependent persons named within. Connections with other locations are shown in powers of attorney, while other deeds name parties to lawsuits or partition of inherited land. Depositions, often about an ear bitten off in a fight, name combatants and witnesses.
