The Brooke Family Lineage with Many Related Families

$35.00

After a brief recap of early and medieval Scottish history, the author introduces the progenitor, Richard Brooke of Whitchurch, England, and his wife, Elizabeth Twyne, who married in 1552. Their grandson, Robert, immigrated to Maryland with his wife and several children (and they had three children more after arriving in the colony). The Brooke family was active in the settling and politics of early Maryland, and included Chief Justice Brooke Taney (1777-1864, son of Roger Brooke IV and Elizabeth Boarman) among its members. Covers from the mid-1500s to the late 1900s, and follows the family's movements from Maryland into the Midwest and California. Includes female lines.
