The material contained in this book was gathered by the compiler during the preparation of his 1983 publication entitled, Montgomery County, Georgia Genealogy and History. It was not included due to a lack of space. It is being published now in order to make available to researchers of this important early county records which should be of significant genealogical value. The material has been taken from records in the Georgia Department of Archives and History, the Georgia Historical Society, the Montgomery County Courthouse, and the archives established by the compiler while he was Librarian at East Georgia College in Swainsboro, Georgia. It is hoped that the small volume will be of assistance to those with roots in this part of Georgia.
