Dunklin County, located in the "Bootheel" section of Missouri, was created on 14 February 1845 out of lands taken from Stoddard County and named for Daniel Dunklin, the Governor of Missouri who died the year before this county was created. There were courthouse fires in 1860 and again in 1872 when all of the records prior to these dates were destroyed. In this volume, you will find a brief history of the county, Abstracts of Will Book A, 1872-1883, and Administrative and Guardian Bonds Book A, 1872-1883.
