Maries County, Missouri Records

Maries County, located in the center of Missouri, was created on 2 March 1855 and named for the Maries and Little Maries Rivers. The word Maries is derived from the French word "marais" meaning marsh, lake, or pond. Included in this work is a brief history of the county, the abstracts of Will Book A 1866-1888 and the Administration Bonds Book A 1869-1883, Applicants for Naturalization, marks and brands and the 1883 Death Register.
