Johnson County, in the northwestern portion of the state, was created in 1833 and named for Ben Johnson, one of the Territorial Judges of the area. This biographical and historical collection gives a brief history of the area and then biographical sketches of families and individuals who submitted them at the time. Since the families submitted the information itself, we can consider this to be fairly accurate.
