The real value of a book of this nature is one of the columns called "Nativity". This gives the place of birth of the individual who has registered to vote on a certain date. The dates are significant also in that many of the Confederate soldiers who moved west following the Civil War are now allowed to vote, since that privilege was denied any soldier without a pardon for past war efforts. From the listing of "Nativities", most all of the residents of Hunt County to register during this time frame came from Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Kentucky or all Confederate States. This is a real source book for information of "lost" soldiers from the south.
